Registrations remain open for both Virtual 5K and Half Marathon. New Registrations (after 8 pm 4/22) will receive Custom Race Medal (no tee-shirt)
We are so grateful for the support from runners and walkers for the Women 4 Women Half Marathon and 5k. At this time we have decided to make this race 100% virtual. We want to make Kentucky proud by flattening the curve and keeping everyone safe. We have already invested in all of the race day materials so we want you to run, but at a safe distance and we will send you the items you have registered for by JUNE 13, 2020.
We are going to offer a virtual option for any new registrant that includes only a medal. All runners who signed up for the regular race will receive a bib, medal and t-shirt in their packet.
We are going to work with our race partners to donate all of the post-race food items to families in need throughout Kentucky. All of the proceeds that we receive from the race support the Women4Women organization to fund programs in our Louisville community. Women4Women's mission is to make change that positively impacts the lives of women and children by focusing on a healthier community and directly touching individuals in supported programs.
This year our grants programs will support the following organizations and programs:
Prodigal Ministries, Inc. (ProdigalKy.org): Support and services to women getting out of prison to transition back to their families.
Lifehouse Maternity Home (lifehouselouisville.org): Support healthy eating for pregnant and/or parenting teens for themselves and their children through meal support and education. This includes understanding nutrition, healthy meals for their children, managing a budget, etc. to support their families on their own.
Legal Aid Society (laslou.org): Fund a program to support homeless women and children in shelters that need legal support and/or advice.
CASA of the River Region (casarr.org): Support CASA to train new volunteers to become advocates/mentors to more
abused/neglected children currently waiting. This grant will support an additional 250+ neglected or abused children in the community.
Mom’s Closet Resource Center (Sparc-Hope.org): Support to single parents that work 20 hours per week (that are low income, under served and vulnerable) by finishing education for better employment by providing food, cleaning supplies, financial guidance, and emotional support to individuals leading to graduation and self sufficiency.
Again, thank you for being a part of our race and keep running! Share your virtual race with us by using #W4WHalfmarathon or #W4W5k be sure to include a runfie and tag our page Women 4 Women!
